Intervention

This part of your coursework requires you to produce a text which joins in a debate about language, and shows awareness of both sides of that debate.  The topic needs to come from the Unit 3 areas of Change or Variation, and your text needs to inform, argue, instruct or persuade.  Texts produced must total 1250 words (you may write one or two texts).  Your work will be assessed using AO4 only, which is concerned with showing creativity in the use of language, informed by linguistic study.  

There are 10 marks each available for:
Form: is your text recognisably the genre it is supposed to be?
Style: is your piece well-written and stylish, as well as appropriately written for the genre and audience?
Content: have you presented and evaluated a debate about language well?
