This unit has 2 sections.  You have to do:
Textual Analysis, focused on “texts from different times”. - 50% unit marks.
The text(s) will date from 1600 - 1945 and you should:
Comment on how typical the language is of its time
Note language features which are no longer common/used
Remember to use all possible frameworks in your answer
Bear in mind that grammar (esp. clause/sentence grammar) is the Great Differentiator

Essay question, choice of 2 - 50% unit marks.
The choice will be between “variation” - focus on Contemporary British Varieties - and “change” - focus on Change in the British Isles in the last 50 years.
